- Beschreibung:
- This folded paper-amulet consists of 7 times 6 (= 42) rhombic fields, covered all about in Arabic script.
In the fourth line of the rhombi, two lines can be deciphered as follows, written across the rhombi horizontally:
“The owner of this work [or: building work, wall, rampart] which has been thoroughly inspected by Imam al-Mansur, has enlightened our faith in Allah, in order to support Allah in our faith. May Allah have mercy upon him and his parents! Their affection and His affection are dedicated to the whole “umma” [religious community of all Moslems]. May Allah give him benediction and salvation!”
The 42 rhombi are mostly filled with Koran-verses, with the exception of a few which are prayers. They have to be read from the upper right angle, with the 1st sura of the Koran; then follow, vertically, 6 verses of the 2nd sura. The presentation of verses and extracts of the Koran in vertical rows strictly follows the order of the Koran (18th, 36th, 67th, 78th, 109th, 112th and 114th sura), ending with a prayer. The 36th sura is usually recited at death. This sura is also followed by a prayer.
